WIFI at FC Viktoria Pilsen Stadium
Pilsen Sport WIFI is a special WIFI that can be used by anyone visiting the city’s football stadium.
Aims of the project:
To provide citizens and visitors of Pilsen with internet connectivity at the city’s football stadium, including a mobile application (FC Viktoria news, match information, stadium navigation, connection to the Pilsen Card as a permanent card, ticket purchase, stadium access via QR code, refreshments, etc.).
Results of the project:
Step I:
The football stadium in Štruncové sady is equipped with WIFI, where people can connect to the Internet for free. Visitors to the stadium can find the WIFI network under the name PLZEN Sport WIFI and can connect to it for an unlimited period of time.
It is a high-speed, intelligent WIFI solution from Cisco Systems designed specifically for stadiums to connect a large number of devices in a small space, combining the latest wireless technology, specialised software and services optimised for sports and entertainment. The system includes 108 WIFI access points, 6 network elements to connect the different parts of the system, 2 servers to run the applications, 2 devices to secure the network traffic and other elements. This network will provide fans with a reliable access to their favourite applications right in the stadium.
Step II:
Launched in 2019, a mobile app disposes of following features:
- FC Viktoria news,
- match information,
- stadium navigation,
- connection to the Pilsen Card as a permanent card,
- ticket purchase,
- entry to the stadium using QR code,
- refreshments,
- communication channel of the city, etc.
