Modern Security Systems for Pilsen Municipal Police
A modern security solution is now in place for the Pilsen Municipal Police. Our colleagues from the Infrastructure Department are responsible for the Security Dispatching Centre project. In addition to modern security features, the system works with camera recordings, sensors that detect rising water levels and air quality, or uses innovative technology to detect gunshots, broken glass and screams.
Aims of the project:
- To create a system that integrates the various security features and data sources used in Pilsen.
- To engage artificial intelligence to alert to a variety of situations that could endanger security.
Results of the project:
- Enhancing citizen safety using smart technologies.
- Elimination of false alarms, significant reduction in the arrival time of the IRS (integrated Rescue Service).
- Significant reduction in reaction time – from 7 minutes to 5 seconds.
- Involvement of an innovative solution from a Pilsen start-up.
The essence of the Security Dispatching Centre is the intelligent evaluation of information using automation and artificial intelligence. This enables the Pilsen Municipal Police to react quickly to specific events, using a screen wall with the Security Dispatching Centre as the control centre. For example, the system can alert a vehicle that has entered a restricted area, or it can detect a particular type of vehicle based on officer input.
The technology that detects shots and screams is very specific. It was developed by an innovative Pilsen-based start-up called JALUD Embedded. A detector with this technology shortens the time of reporting a dangerous event from about 7 minutes to just 5 seconds, monitors panicked screams in the streets, broken windows, detects gunshots or explosions.
In October 2023 the Security Dispatching Centre gained a new function – thanks to the Security Portal, officers can establish a video transmission, chat or locate the caller’s location and movement. No phone app is required, just a smartphone with an internet connection. For more information read an article about the Safety Portal here.
The security dispatching centre was established within the framework of the project Development of electronicisation and robotization of processes and services. It was financially supported by the Integrated Regional Operational Programme, 9th Call IROP – eGovernment. The value of the subsidy was 9 million CZK excluding VAT.
