ChatBot
Pilsen has another tool for communication with citizens – ChatBot, or a robot used for instant messaging. It has been launched on the website of the city of Pilsen www.plzen.eu. It will also be part of the official Facebook profile of the West Bohemian metropolis and will also be used in the Messenger application.
Aims of the project:
To deploy a computer program that simulates human conversation that will be able to help with basic orientation in the most common life situations that citizens are confronted with in the offices.
ChatBot can be imagined as a normal conversation window in which a message appears informing that a robot from the Pilsen Municipality is communicating with you. It will advise you on some of the situations that can be handled at the office. By using this automated conversation, the citizens do not have to browse the website – the important information is reached immediately, in a matter of seconds.
Results of the project:
- In case of websites, the ChatBot appears as a pop-up window in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- The program will also be part of the Pilsen city official Facebook profile.
- Users of the Messenger application will also be able to find it under the name Chatbot-Cities-Plzeň.
The upcoming version of the programme will provide information from a number of selected areas – personal documents, registration of citizens, trade licensing office, drivers’ register, vehicle register and number plates.
Right from the start, a menu appears and navigation is very simple. You select one of the above areas and the robot will start offering you specific situations. You select again and this repeats until you have learnt everything you needed.
The provided information can be, for example, the address and office hours of the institution, what documents you need to submit, information on waiting times, or the possibility to apply online. Of course, you can also be redirected to the websites of the municipality and more. The ChatBot will simply guide you through the entire process of the official procedure in an automated dialogue.
